Residential Schools: Stories told and Shared

Dec 13, 2016 - 11:00 AM-12:30 PM (Eastern)

This video conference will give students as well as teachers a better perspective on residential schools in Canada. We will be exploring the cause and reasons for the creation of residential schools, the effects the schools have had on the lives of First Nations people today, we will examine the methods of healing and coping amongst First Nations people. Lastly we will talk about the international connections that the residential schools have created over the years. During this conference we will talk about the struggles that the First Nations people went through as a result of being forced into residential schools. The People who were unfortunate enough to be forced to go to these schools deserve to have their stories heard, to have citizens around the world be aware of what had actually happened.
