Middle East in Transition: Peace and Conflict PRT 1 & 2 (9 - 10:30 am MST)

Mar 4, 2014

This two part event on March 4th and 11th will explore how we think about the choice between violence and non-violence, both in terms of how we remember the history of these movements, and in the current context of transition in the Middle East. Students will explore their personal and moral response to violence, and how they view the difference between terrorism and self-defense, or between appropriate and inappropriate violence. Students will explore the balance of violence and nonviolence involved in key historical transitions in order to better understand current resistance movements across the Middle East. This video conference will taking place between 9 – 10:30 am MST for high school students. If you would like your class to participate interactively or observe this event, please register with the link below. Observing classes can visit our Livestream web page during the time of the event using THIS LINK during the time of the event. The recommended donation for this conference is $150 per class.
