Communities make the difference: World AIDS Day

Dec 1, 2020 - 12:00 PM-13:00 PM (Eastern)

This classroom and event will allow students the opportunity to come together to explore and define concepts such as equity, empathy, and building strong communities. They will look at how their unique locations translate on a global scale and recognize the essential role that communities have played and continue to play in the AIDS response. A core principle of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and of the AIDS response, is that no one should be left behind. On this World AIDS Day, students will be led through a conversation on how they can contribute to building communities that address the inequality, marginalization, and discrimination that leads to and perpetuates ill health. This conference will be focusing on SDG's GOAL 3: Good Health & Wellbeing, GOAL 4: Quality Education, GOAL 10: Reduced Inequality, and GOAL 16: Peaceful and inclusive societies.
